Hawaii Residency Requirements for Divorce
Each state has individual requirements for the residence of the spouses that must be met to file for a divorce in that state. For the courts of Hawaii to have jurisdiction over a case, the filing spouse must have been a resident of the state for at least three months preceding the filing of the Complaint for Divorce. Military personnel who are residents of any other state also have the right to get a divorce in Hawaii, provided that he or she has been serving in the state for at least six months before filing for divorce
