For a Montana court to have jurisdiction over a divorce case, the spouses must meet specific residency requirements of the state.
Under the Montana Code, either spouse must have been a resident of the state for at least 90 days preceding the filing for divorce or be stationed in Montana as a member of US armed forces for the same time.
