Oklahoma Residency Requirements for Divorce
The court has jurisdiction over the case if the spouses comply with the Oklahoma residency requirements. Thus, to file for divorce within the state, at least one spouse must have been a bona fide resident of Oklahoma for at least six months before filing a petition with the court.
A resident of any other state who is a service member can file for a divorce, provided that he or she has been stationed in Oklahoma for at least six months before filing.
