Washington Residency Requirements for Divorce
Unlike other US states, Washington law does not require any particular term of residency. As long as either spouse currently resides in the state, they can file for a divorce.
The same is true for members of the armed forces that are stationed in Washington. They are considered to be residents of the state and are allowed to file for a divorce in local courts.
